TikTok APK Download & Install Guide for Android in China (2026)
How to download and install TikTok (international version) on Android phones in China. Step-by-step APK guide for Huawei, Xiaomi, OPPO, vivo — no SIM card removal needed.
TikTok is the most downloaded social media app in the world, with over 1.5 billion monthly active users. But if you're in China and want to use the international version of TikTok (not Douyin, the domestic version), you'll run into a problem: TikTok detects Chinese SIM cards and restricts content.
This guide shows you how to download the TikTok APK, bypass SIM card detection, and start watching international content — no Google Play required.
TikTok vs Douyin: What's the Difference?
TikTok (International) is operated by ByteDance Global for worldwide audiences (excluding mainland China). Douyin is the domestic version for China. TikTok features international creators and content, while Douyin focuses on Chinese creators. If you want to watch content from around the world, you need the international TikTok.
The SIM Card Problem
TikTok checks for Chinese SIM cards (China Mobile, China Unicom, China Telecom). When detected, it restricts content or redirects you to a limited version.
Solution 1 (Recommended): No SIM Lock Mod — Keep your SIM in your phone. Download a modified TikTok APK that removes the SIM card check from gptoapk.com.
Solution 2: Official Version + Remove SIM — Turn off phone, remove SIM, turn on, connect to VPN WiFi, install official APK, register. DO NOT reinsert your SIM card.
